remain in joy
Jesus said to His disciples: "Remain in my love" (John 15:9).
Jesus remained in His Father's love through each and every temptation, each trial and relentless suffering. He never stopped praying and never stopped trusting in His Father's love for Him, even through His last breath. Jesus never gave up, and when He was finally united with His Father in Heaven, every one of His deepest sorrows turned into complete joy.
Now, Jesus asks us to do the same with Him—to pray, trust, and remain in His love, for the sake of keeping His commandments. He assures us that when we do, we'll have no greater joy—what a love Jesus has and wants for each of us. "I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete" (John 15:11).
